Here are some of the questions we’ve been getting (in case you had the same question):
DO I STILL NEED TO DO BACKUPS?
Yes!!! Remember, the hhschools Cloud-Sync Workflow is all about making your life easier, not replacing those trusty backups. Cloud sync manages the complications that can come when sharing work with a team that is not sitting right next to you. And at the end of the day, you are still responsible to back up your projects at your studio.
DO I NEED TO STORE ALL OF MY PROJECTS IN THE CLOUD?
The beauty of the per project pricing allows you to decide which projects you store in the cloud and which ones you store locally. At a certain point, you will no longer need instant access to your projects from anywhere. For each project that may be different. And whenever that is, you can download that project from the cloud. You have the power to decide.
WHAT IF I WANT TO RETOUCH MY IMAGES?
With cloud-sync you can still do that. You can do it from the computer/network that imported, and still has local access to the high-resolution images. Bottom line is you need access to your high-res images if you want to modify them.
DO I HAVE TO STAY CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET TO WORK ON MY CLOUD PROJECTS?
While a project is checked out, you can work on your project both while you’re connected to the internet or while you are offline. This is because the local install of hhschools has all the data and low-res images to work on the project.
CAN MORE THAN ONE PERSON ACCESS THE SAME PROJECT AT THE SAME TIME?
While the project is checked out, another computer or location can view a read-only version of it for from the last check-in. This is helpful for your customer service team.
HOW CAN I TELL WHO HAS THE PROJECT CHECKED OUT?
Each user on your team will have their own login to access your projects. When attempting to access the project, you will see a message indicating which user has the project checked out.
THIS IS MY FIRST TIME WITH REMOTE WORK. GOT ANY TIPS?
When to work remotely and when not to, is ultimately a decision you need to make. But if this is your first time in this space, here are a few things to consider:
- Think through your company remote worker philosophy and policies before starting to use this capability. Remote work can be difficult to reel back in once you start doing it.
- Consider putting a computer usage agreement signed by each employee.
- Each studio employee should have their own account on the H&H website with the proper permissions set.
- We highly recommend that you have remote employees still use business provided computers with your up-to-date antivirus installed on each computer.
- Remember – when you give access to a person who is not in your office to work for you by viewing or modifying student data and images, you do not have visibility of their work environment and habits, or their productivity.
- Please take the time to think through what managing remote work will entail and take the time to get a clear mutual understanding of expectations with anyone who may work remotely before enabling remote work.
